Sometimes real life can throw a monkey wrench into a writer's schedule. It's hard to stay on schedule when physical therapy appointments and overtime at work throw things into a tailspin. However, several of my writing projects are plodding toward inevitable completion. Here is a rundown of where things stand:
1. CHAOS AND DOOM (Short Story Collection)
All of the stories are complete and edited except for two big ones: a sci-fi thriller named Mainframe and a ghost story called Evicted Tenants. Those stories are both 50 percent complete. I'm still undecided on whether or not I should squeeze a third tale into the lineup: a sequel to Stargazers, a sci-fi/horror tale that was published in the November 2011 issue of Pro Se Presents from Pro Se Press. The working title of the sequel is Stargazers in the Everglades, which is 33 percent complete.
2. MORBID CURIOSITY (Novel)
The first volume of my huge horror novel is complete and ready to submit. I'm excited about breaking the book up and transforming it into a serialized novel. It's a very dark, violent, fast-paced novel...a complete 360 switch-around from Cadaver Island.
3. THE MASK OF BEELZEBUB (Novel)
The second novel of my Cadaver Island trilogy will land in the submission email of my potential publisher very soon. It contains crossover elements from four short stories: Hellhound, Claustrophobia (unpublished at this time), Citadel of the New Moon, and Demolition. The novel picks up where Cadaver Island left off and sets the stage for the third and final book in the trilogy, which will be called The Plague of Corruption. The Mask of Beelzebub is 95 percent complete and is undergoing editing and revisions.
I'll post more updates about these projects soon. Hopefully real life will not slow down their progress!!!
